Family Heritage was once again recognized for its commitment in the fight against hunger. The Harvest for Hunger awards ceremony was held in Cleveland on June 9, 2011.
Harvest for Hunger is an annual food and funds drive that raises resources for food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters in 21 Northeast Ohio counties in the month of March.
Family Heritage received a special award for going above and beyond the call of duty during this year’s drive. Family Heritage was awarded with The Edmond V. Worley Award. This award is named after the founding director of the Cleveland Food Bank, Ed Worley and is given to organizations with less than 200 employees. Family Heritage hosts fundraising activities all year round, culminating with a month of daily activities in the spring. With only 96 employees, Family Heritage raised over $28,000 – which equals $292.00 per employee.
“We are privileged to work with a group of such dedicated and generous individuals. The employees of Family Heritage have once again done an outstanding job raising money for the fight against hunger” said Alison Joggerst, Co-Chair Harvest for Hunger Committee.
Family Heritage is already looking forward next year’s campaign and surpassing this year’s contribution.
